Who We Are

Swells bakery is a San Diego coastal micro bakery dedicated to crafting heritage grain sourdough bread and treats. Founded in 2022 by Pamela and Erik, the bakery specializes in bread that is non-GMO, stone-milled, and free from bleaching or bromate. With a passion for tradition and quality, the bakery uses time-honored techniques to create nourishing and flavorful baked goods.

Our Bread

Our bread is made with Hayden Flour Mills, sourced from heritage grains grown using sustainable practices. The flour is stone-milled, which helps preserve the natural nutrients, oils, and flavors of the grain. This approach creates bread with a distinctive taste and texture that reflects the quality of the ingredients. Using Hayden Mills flour also means our bread is naturally lower in gluten and free from additives like bleaching or bromates. It’s a simple, thoughtful process that emphasizes wholesome ingredients and traditional methods, resulting in bread that’s both flavorful and rooted in sustainability.
